ManuAstro™ LLP (“ManuAstro”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of visitors and users of our website www.manuastro.com (the “Website”), our mobile applications (the “App”), and any services, products, or content offered through the Website or App (together, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, your rights, and how to contact us.

This Policy is published in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and related rules, and other relevant laws and guidelines.

By accessing or using the Services you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Services.

 

 

1. Scope and Acceptance

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • Visitors of the Website (whether registered or not);

  • Registered users with accounts on the Website or App;

  • Customers who purchase Services or products through the Website or App; and

  • Third-party service providers registered on or using our platform (for example, astrologers, consultants) to the extent that such terms apply.

We collect two categories of information: Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Non-Personal Information.

Personal Identifiable Information (PII)

You may provide the following information when using the Services or registering an account:

  • Name (first and last) — optional during simple registration but requested for profiles and bookings;

  • Phone number (required for OTP verification and contact);

  • Email address (for account, receipts, and communications);

  • Date of birth, time and place of birth (for astrology/Kundli generation) — provided by you when requesting personalized services;

  • Address, city, state and postal code (for shipping of physical products);

  • Payment details (card/UPI or other payment instrument details) — processed securely by third-party payment gateways; we do not store raw card numbers on our servers;

  • Profile photo, gender and other optional profile details you choose to provide;

  • Any content you submit (text, audio recordings, attachments) while using chat, consultation, or upload features;

  • Device identifiers and IP address when required for fraud prevention, security and analytics;

  • Any other information you knowingly choose to provide to us.

Non-Personal Information

We automatically collect certain technical and usage data, such as:

  • IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device model;

  • Pages visited, duration, clickstream data, referrer URLs, session information;

  • Cookies, local storage identifiers and similar tracking data;

  • Aggregated analytics used to improve the Website (e.g., number of visitors, geographic summaries).

 

 

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver Services: create and manage your account, process bookings and orders, generate personalized charts/reports (Kundli), schedule consultations, and provide purchased digital products.

  • Analytics & Improvement: to analyze usage, improve our Services, and measure campaign effectiveness (using aggregated, anonymized data where possible).

  • Legal & Compliance: to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

  • Personalization: to customize your experience on the Website (saved preferences, recommended content).

  • Data portability & export: to prepare exports of your data when requested.

We will not use your data for purposes incompatible with those described without obtaining your consent.

We will not disclose your phone number directly; calls may be arranged via our intermediary “connect” system so your number may remain private unless you expressly share it.

  • Legal and regulatory authorities where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

  • Business partners only with your consent or as part of a specific feature (e.g., third-party course platform).

  • Acquirers or parties in corporate transactions (e.g., merger, sale of assets) with appropriate safeguards.

We may also share aggregated, anonymized data that does not identify an individual.

 

 

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, local storage and similar technologies for session management, personalization, analytics, and advertising. Cookies help us:

  • Remember your login state and preferences;

  • Analyze usage patterns to optimize the Website;

7. Voice Recording, Audio & Video Interactions

If you use audio recording, voice message or video call features:

  • We request explicit permission to access your microphone and/or camera.

  • Recorded audio/video you create and submit is stored securely and used to provide the Service (e.g., to deliver to the astrologer or for playback). These recordings will be retained for a limited period and then deleted unless you consent to longer retention.

  • Do not share sensitive personal information in voice or video sessions unless necessary and you understand how it will be used.

  • We are not responsible for information you voluntarily share directly to third parties (including astrologers) outside the mediated channels.

 

 

8. Security of Data

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption, secure servers, access controls) to protect personal data. Payment processing is performed by PCI-compliant third-party gateways and we do not store full payment card details. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure—please exercise care when sharing sensitive information.

 

 

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Typical retention examples:

  • Account data: retained while account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion for legal/financial reasons (e.g., tax records);

  • Transaction records and invoices: retained for statutory periods (as required by law);

  • Support records, complaints and audit logs: retained for a reasonable business purpose;

  • Recordings of consultations: retained as described at the time of recording (we will inform you of retention length).

If you request deletion of your account, see Section 11 for the deletion process and exceptions where we must retain certain data.

 

 

10. Children & Minors

Our Services are intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect PII from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete it. Parents or guardians who believe a child under 13 has provided information should contact us immediately.

 

 

11. Account Deletion & Data Subject Rights

You have certain rights regarding your personal data. Where applicable, you may:

  • Access personal data we hold about you;

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;

  • Delete your account and personal data (subject to lawful retention obligations);

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;

  • Port certain data to another controller (where feasible);

How to Delete Your Account

To delete your account and associated personal data:

  1. Log in to your account → go to Account Settings → Delete Account and follow the on-screen steps; or

  2. Email us at [contact@manuastro.com] with the subject line “Account Deletion Request” and include your registered email/phone.

We may require verification (login, OTP or proof of identity) before processing deletion to prevent unauthorized requests. Once deletion is initiated we will:

  • Anonymize or delete PII from active systems within a reasonable timeframe (unless legal obligations require retention);

  • Remove you from marketing lists;

  • Confirm by email when deletion is completed.

If immediate deletion is not possible due to legal or legitimate business reasons (e.g., tax/financial records), we will notify you and retain only what is necessary.

 

 

12. Unsubscribe from Communications

All marketing emails/SMS and push notifications include an unsubscribe link or instructions. You may also manage communication preferences in your account settings. For transactional emails you cannot opt out (order confirmations, booking details). Ensure your unsubscribe link resolves to a working confirmation page (e.g., /unsubscribe) - if you encounter an error, contact us at [contact@manuastro.com] so we can resolve it.

 

 

13. Third-Party Services, Links & Integrations

We may use third-party services (analytics, advertising providers, payment gateways, hosting, communication tools). These third parties have their own privacy practices; we encourage you to review their policies. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices or content on linked sites.

 

 

14. International Transfers

If you are located outside India and use our Services, your personal data may be processed in India or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Where required by law, we will ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers (e.g., contractual protections).

16. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from this Policy shall be subject to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat of arbitration in New Delhi, unless otherwise required by law. Notwithstanding arbitration, either party may seek interim relief in courts of competent jurisdiction in New Delhi.

 

 

17. Severability

If any provision of this Policy is found invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the Policy shall remain in full force and effect.

  • We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

  • We will only disclose personal data where necessary to provide Services or as required by law.
